Schreibly runs as you type — in a browser extension on most sites you write in, in the web app, and (soon) in desktop apps for Windows and macOS.

Five regional variants

English isn't one language and German certainly isn't. Schreibly supports five regional variants out of the box:

en-GB — British English. Treats "organise" as correct, not as a US misspelling.
en-US — American English. Treats "organize" the same way.
de-DE — Germany. Federal Duden orthography, ß where the rules call for it.
de-AT — Austria. Jänner, not Januar; Erdäpfel, not Kartoffeln, where the writer intends them.
de-CH — Switzerland. Always ss, never ß. Swiss orthography respected end-to-end.

Writing profiles

The same sentence is correct in casual chat and wrong in a contract. Schreibly lets you pick:

Formality — Sie/du in German; tone in English.
Domain — business, academic, casual.
Tone — neutral, friendly, direct, diplomatic.
Per-document settings — your contract profile doesn't bleed into your email.
